Some terrain ideas

Hey, im just posting up some ideas for terrains right before I fall asleep.

the first map could be a inside terrain for a whole map, most rp maps are made with a outdoor selection of land water and hills, but I think a indoor map would be something different. A cave one huge cave that your in that would be the whole map, something like that would be amazing rocks all over traps, broken rocks whatever you need to make the map look like the inside of a cave that would be a different look for a terrain and I think some people would like it, if not a cave you would do a whole dungeon theme like a torture chamber as the whole map, I do understand that maps are supposed to be wide variety but hey thats what all the other maps are for.


Another idea there could be a whole space theme futuristic, I don't ever see any rp maps like that and yes it may not atch with all the wc3 units but you could make it look like they were somehow telported and there in a futuristic world that they do not know or understand and try to adept, (probably would take a huge ton of customs but it could work)


Another idea of a terrain that can be all blizzard & snow, it could be like ice crown or an ice crater broken parts of ice all around lands, you could make it neutral looking or you could make it like ice crown after wc3 lore so in the middle you could make a super high small piece of land and at the top of this high elevation you could put a frozen chair up there, (The frozen throne) so you could stick lichking/arthas right up there and have him sit and watch all over his icy kingdom.


Another fantastic idea, A terrain all red rocks and ground, fire all over the place give it the look of a underworld of hell where the demons live and the flames are all over where water would be, it would be lava where the cracks are flames are burning. I think a lot of people would get off to a map looking like hell in the underworld. If any of you have played gauntlet dark legacy, when your in the underworld to find skorne I mean that kind of look for a hell. in the RP map.

Well im about to head to bed I wana hear some suggestions and what you think about those ideas, I probley will post up more when I wake up so untill then good night to those who are going to sleep and those who are awake good morning.

Heres my opinion regarding your suggestions:

1st suggestion: Would like it, but might get boring.
2nd suggestion: BGRP, I hope SotDRP never goes space... (I can't stand future RP)
3d suggestion: Lil messing with Mountains should do the trick?
4th suggestion: Could get fun, if its done properly.

No Future... I really like the cave thing. The snow one... just play mountains and the last one seems like an outland kind of thing, so no thanks.

The caves idea seems the best, some SotDRP with more quantity of caves/inner places than usual could be nice.

About the futuristic theme: the map will require more skins, it would take a lot of work, and the developing team shouldn't focus in such a small nuissance(if thats how u spell it x_x) its better focusing on getting the features to work, adding some nice easy way to save the map, and making it atractive to the common people and easy to learn, a inclusive game.

With a really good way of saving the map, and it cleaned up with the less mem leaks you'll be able of modifying the terrain, there's no way a main map, a mainstream version will be like that... What's next? fishermen fishing hellfish? =0 niiiiice.

Yeah I like the idea with having the interiors be the maps. Maybe there could be a Haunted Mansion map, the inside of a kingdom or a giant dungeon maze, sort of like the ones that you would draw out and make for the old D&D RPG game (IRL). Lol here's a pretty far fetched idea: make it so that half of a map is heaven and the other is hell haha and middle earth will be a tiny chunk in between the two.

Time to necro! (Technically). The only thing I hate about caves are the blizzard walls. It makes the buildings rise higher and cause flying units to float at an angle (Unless you have elevators under them.) The other problem is that there is often no space to put buildings anyways. I guess the other good part about cave maps is that "You Must Build" is defeated :P
